The remaining of the American Idol Top 5 Season 7 will be performing songs from "Music of Neil Diamond" with the mentor/guest being Neil Diamond. on April 29, 2008 (Tuesday, 8:00pm - 9:00pm ET live/PT tape-delayed) Astro Star World, Channel 711on April 30, 2008, 6:00pm. The Top 5 are:


David Archuleta - It’s “Sweet Caroline” and “America”


Jason Castro - It’s “Forever in Blue Jeans” and “September Morn”


David Cook - It’s “I’m Alive” and “All I Really Need Is You”


Syesha Mercado - "Hello Again" and "Thank the Lord for the Night Time"


Brooke White - "I Am ... I Said" at piano and "I'm a Believer"

A little information about Neil Diamond:



Neil Diamond is one of the most successful pop music performers since years ago as long as I can remember. He has more than 125 million records sold worldwide with 15 Top Ten albums and 37 Top Ten singles. He has 12 Grammy nominations and four Golden Globes. He was also one of the songwriters Hall of Fame. He is really amazing with his music.

From the sources that I have read somewhere in the beginning of May 2008 the highly anticipated new album from this famous singer-songwriter "Home Before Dark" will be released. The album which consists of 12 songs also entered the Billboard Top 200 at No. 4, Diamond’s highest-charting debut yet. The disc was hailed by Newsweek as "The best work Diamond has done in 30 years."

After all the 5 finalists have performed, on the following night Wednesday, April 30 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) 4-30-08 the results show will feature a live performance of “Amazing Grace” by superstar Neil Diamond and Natasha Bedingfield will be performing her hit song "Pocket Full of Sunshine."

One more finalists will be voted off American Idol and we will have our season 7 from Top 5 down to Top 4.

Carly Smithson was planning on singing "Sweet Caroline" but she was eliminated during the results show of Top 6 American Idol 7. Although she performed well singing the song "Jesus Christ Superstar".
