The latest results of Miss International 2008:

Winner: Miss International 2008: Alejandra Andreu (Spain)

Alejandra Andreu is 18 years old and comes from Zaragoza. She aspires to study visual communications, as she just graduated from high school months ago.

Alejandra, who stands 173 cm tall, finished in third place at the Miss Spain pageant last March, earning her the right to compete in Miss International.

Usually, the 2nd runner up in Miss Spain competed in the Miss Europe pageant but being a unstable contest -last edition took place in 2006-, the organizers decided that Alejandra was better off competing in the Japanese competition.

She resembles former Miss Switzerland Lauriane Gillieron, a runner-up at Miss Universe 2006. When asked about beauty secrets, Alejandra says that she keeps a healthy lifestyle, but the most important thing is enjoying life.

Alejandra’s victory marks the third Miss International crown for Spain. Other winners were Pilar Medina (1977) and Silvia de Esteban (1990). It is also the first “grand slam” beauty title for Spain since 1990.

1st runner-up: María Cristina Díaz-Granados (Colombia)
