Beijing, August 21, 2008 - Chen Ruolin of China won the gold medal in Women's 10 meter Platform Diving at the Beijing Olympic Games here on Thursday.

Chen scored a total of 447.70 points for gold, the seventh diving title for host China. The silver medal was taken by Emilie Heymans of Canada at 437.05. Another Chinese diver, Wang Xin, finished third with 429.90.

Usain Bolt wins the men's 200 m in a new world record time of 19.30 seconds, beating the old mark set by Michael Johnson at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. With this victory, Bolt also becomes the first athlete since Carl Lewis in 1984 to win both the 100 m and 200 m events in a single Olympiad, and the first sprinter since Don Quarrie in 1976 to hold both 100 and 200 metres world records simultaneously, and the first since the introduction of electronic timing.
Swimming After a race lasting nearly two hours, Russia's Larisa Ilchenko beats Keri-Anne Payne of Great Britain by just 1.5 seconds to win the women's 10 km marathon.
