Russia took the gold of Women's 4 x 100m Relay at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in a time of 42.31 seconds

The Netherlands holds off surprising China to win Hockey gold

BEIJING, August 22 - The Netherlands beat China 2-0 in the final of the Women's Hockey tournament to give the 14-time Champions Trophy top-three finisher its first Olympic Women's Hockey gold since Los Angeles 1984. The Dutch finished second in Athens and third in Sydney.

China stunned the Hockey world by defeating Athens Olympic champion Germany in the semifinals. A relative newcomer to the sport, China earns its best ever Olympic finish in Hockey by winning silver.

Bronze went to Argentina, who beat Germany in the day's other medal match.

Tirunesh Dibaba takes double gold

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia lapped her competition to win the gold medal in the Women's 5000m at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in a time of 15:41.40.

Dibaba also won the Women's 10000m gold medal at Beijing 2008.

Dibaba fell short of her own world record time of 14:11.15 that she set in June this year.

Lena Schoneborn triumphant in Women's Modern Pentathlon

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Lena Schoneborn of Germany took the Olympic title in Women's Modern Pentathlon with a total score of 5792 points. Heather Fell of Great Britain won the silver medal scoring 5752 points. Victoria Tereshuk of Ukraine claimed the bronze at 5672.

Hadi Saei claims gold in Taekwondo Men's -80kg

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Iranian veteran Hadi Saei took the gold medal in the Men's -80kg division by beating Italian taekwondo fighter Mauro Sarmiento 6-4 on Friday in a final match of the Olympic Taekwondo competition.

August 22, 2008 - Belarus claimed gold in the Men's Kayak Four (K4) 1000m in 2:55.714 at the Beijing Olympics on Friday.

Slovakia took silver with a time of 2:56.593, and Germany won bronze in 2:56.676.

Germany took the silver in 3:36.588, and Hungary got the bronze in 3:40.258.

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - The German team of Fanny Fischer, Nicole Reinhardt, Katrin Wagner-Augustin and Conny Wassmuth took the lead in the first 250 meters and finished first in the Women's Flatwater Kayak Four (K4) 500m final on Friday, August 22.

The German team clocked 44.84 seconds in the first 250m, and finished the entire course in 1:32.231 minutes for the gold medal.

Hungary's Katalin Kovacs, Gabriella Timea Szabo, Danuta Kozak and Natasa Janic earned the silver with a total time of 1:32.971 minutes, only 0.740 seconds behind the German team. Hungary trailed the gold medal winners by 0.99 seconds in the first 250m, and actually finished the second 250m in the fastest time of all teams, with 47.141 seconds.

Australia's Lisa Oldenhof, Hannah Davis, Chantal Meek and Lyndsie Fogarty finished the first 250m in fifth place, but pulled in front of the Polish team to earn the bronze medal with a total time of 1:34.704 minutes, only 0.048 seconds faster than fourth place Poland.


BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Hungary's Attila Sandor Vajda finished first in the August 22 final of the Men's Flatwater C1 1000 meter, with a time of 3:50.467 minutes. Defending champion, 32-year-old Eirik Veras Larsen of Norway placed second clocking 3:27.342. He took four medals in 2008 ICF World Cup series, two silver and two bronze.

Twenty-five-year-old Kenneth Wallace of Australia took the bronze medal with a time of 3:27.485. He is a raising star in this category and is considered to be the best Australian kayaker after his compatriot Nathan Baggaley.

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Tim Brabants crowned in Men's Flatwater K1 1000mGreat Britain's Tim Brabants dominated the Canoe/Kayak Flatwater Kayak Single (K1) 1000-meter final on August 22.

Brabants led the race from start to end and passed the finish line first with a time of 3:26.323.

Defending champion Eirik VerĂ¥s Larsen of Norway placed second, clocking 3:27.342.

Australia's Ken Wallace took the bronze medal with a time of 3:27.485.

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Alex Schwarzer of Italy won the Men's 50km Walk gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in a time of three hours and 37.09 minutes on August 22. The silver medal went to Jared Tallent of Australia in three hours 39.27 minutes. Tallent won bronze in the Men's 20km Walk at these Games on Saturday, August 16.

Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers of the United States defeated Marcio Araujo and Fabio Luiz Magalhaes of Brazil in the Beach Volleyball final at the Beijing Olympics on Friday.

The US athletes won 2-1 (23-21, 17-21, 15-4).

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Schwarzer breaks OR in Men's 50km Walk: Alex Schwarzer of Italy won the Men's 50km Walk gold medal at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games in a time of three hours and 37.09 minutes on August 22 – breaking the previous Olympic record of three hours and 38.29 seconds.

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Maris Strombergs takes Latvia's first gold in Men's BMX Cycling: Maris Strombergs of Latvia took gold with a time of 36.190 in the Olympic debut of Men's BMX Cycling, beating Mike Day (36.606) and Donny Robinson (36.972) of the United States, who finished second and third, respectively.

Strombergs' win earned Latvia's first gold medal in the Beijing Games.

BEIJING, August 22, 2008 - Anne-Caroline Chausson crowned first ever BMX queen: Anne-Caroline Chausson of France took the first ever Olympic gold medal in Women's BMX Cycling on Friday, August 22. With a final time of 35.976s, she beat compatriot Laetitia le Corguille, who took second with 38.042s, and Jill Kintner of the United States, who claimed the bronze in 38.674s.

August 22, 2008 - Canadian Eric Lamaze won the Jumping Individual gold medal at the Olympic Equestrian competition here on Thursday.

Rolf Goran Bengtsson of Sweden took silver, and Beezie Madden of the United States got bronze.

Softball

In one of the biggest upsets in the history of softball, Japan defeats the United States 3-1 in the final of the women's softball tournament. This was the US team's first defeat in Olympic competition since the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and the first time the US has failed to win the gold medal.

Volleyball

American duo Kerri Walsh and Misty May-Treanor win the gold medal in the women's beach volleyball final, completing the tournament without dropping a single set and extending their unbeaten run in world competition to 108 matches.

Sinopsis drama Kekasihku Seru dalam SLOT SERAM TV3 setiap hari Khamis pada jam 9.30 malam di TV3:

Kekasihku Seru yang menggabungkan unsur mistik dan kisah cinta ini mengisahkan Waris (Hairi Othman) yang tidak boleh melepaskan cintanya jika dia hendak hidup untuk selama-lamanya. Waris sudah mati 100 tahun yang lalu tetapi dihidupkan Mastura (Emelda Rosmila). Untuk sentiasa hidup selama-lamanya, Waris mesti mengahwini waris Mastura turun temurun. Kehidupan Waris selama ini bergantung kepada keturunan Mastura zaman berzaman.

Sementara itu, Marissa hanya mengetahui dirinya anak angkat selepas kematian ibunya. Berbekalkan surat yang dijumpai dalam peti simpanan ibunya, Mastura cuba menjejaki siapakah ibunya yang sebenar dan mengapa dia diberi kepada keluarga angkatnya. Dia kemudian bertemu pasangan adik beradik Mas Suri (Umie Aida) dan Mas Ayu (Kuza) di sebuah rumah penuh misteri. Dua beradik ini mempunyai perangai berbeza.

Drama bersiri 13 episod "Kekasihku Seru" adalah karya usaha sama pasangan suami isteri, Kabir Bhatia selaku pengarah, manakala skrip nukilan Mira Mustapha
