Somjit Jongjohor from Thailand claimed the Men's 51kg Boxing title at the Beijing Olympics on Saturday, beating Andris Laffita Hernandez from Cuba 8-2 in the final.
The bronze medals went to Georgy Balakshin from Russia and Vincenzo Picardi from Italy.

BEIJING, August 23 - Defending champions China's Meng Guanliang and Yang Wenjun successfully won gold again with a time of 1:41.025 minutes in the final of the Men's Flatwater Canoe Double (C2) 500 meter on Saturday, August 23.
Russia's Sergey Ulegin and Alexander Kostoglod finished 0.257 seconds after for a silver medal, and third place went to Germany's Christian Gille and Thomasz Wylenzek.

Norway clinches Olympic gold in Women's Handball - Norway overpowered their old rival Russia with a score of 34-27 in the Women's Handball gold medal match at the National Indoor Stadium on Saturday, August 23.
Russia, who defeated Norway in the 2007 World Championships, claimed the silver medal.
Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth scored a team-high of nine goals for Norway while Russia's top scorer Irina Bliznova contributed six goals out of ten attempts.

BEIJING, August 23 - Russia won the Synchronized Swimming Team Event gold medal after they finished a perfect 100.000 performance in the Team Free Routine on August 23, scoring a cumulative total of 99.500 points. Spain won the silver medal with a total score of 98.251. Host China earned the bronze medal with 97.334 points. Placing fourth was Canada at 95.668.
