20 year-old Kerrie Baylis is the newly crowned Miss Jamaica World 2009 at The Jamaica Pegasus

KINGSTON, August 28, 2009 – Twenty-year-old Kerrie Baylis on Saturday walked away with lucrative prizes and the mandate to represent Jamaica at the Miss World competition in South Africa later this year. After making several appearances, with fellow contestants, the 5 feet 10 inches beauty was awarded the title, Miss Jamaica World (MJW) 2009 at the grand coronation show, last Saturday at The Jamaica Pegasus.

"I did not expect it," a super excited Baylis told The Gleaner after the show. "May be my answer to the question put me over the top," she added.

The first runner-up was Keri-Ann Bridgewater (left) and second runner-up was Stephanie Hazle (right).
