23-YEAR OLD JOSHUA DAY, A MODEL FROM THE UNITED STATES IS THE WINNER OF THE II EDITION OF THE MISTER UNIVERSE MODEL


Punta Cana, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, May 4, 2009 – Joshua Day (C), 23, a model from the United States, is the winner of the II edition of the Mister Universe Model, which took place at the Barceló Premium Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic.

The runner-ups were the candidates from Chile, Robinson Tajmuch (1st RU), Italy, Francesco Allegra (2nd RU), Afghanistan, Mahmud Jan (3rd RU), and Cuba, Luis Miguel Moreta (4th RU).

The semi-finalists were: US Virgin Islands, Matt Raimo; Panama, Jorge Prosperi; Spain, Josafat Barrera; Brazil, Assad Haddad Neto; Canada, Paul Voisard; Saona Island, Ruddy Frías, and France, Maxime Thomasset.

Mister Chile was elected "Mister Internet", Mister India won the "Best National Costume" award, and Mister Guatemala was named "Mister Popularity".

Mister Universe Model is one of the fastest growing pageants in the world, already considered to be the 4th most important competition in the category, behind Mister World, Manhunt International and Mister International.
