For the first time, the MTV Asia Awards show held at the Arena of Stars in Genting- City of Entertainment, Malaysia on August 2, 2008
Karen Mok will be co-hosting the 2008 MTV Asia Awards at the Arena of Stars, Genting-City of Entertainment, Malaysia. On August 2, 2008 Karen Mok will join Jared Leto, of 30 Seconds to Mars. "I'm really excited to have the opportunity to host this year's MTV Asia Awards and to celebrate the spirit and power of music with MTV and artists from around the world," said Karen Mok.

The Pussycat Dolls will perform their latest hit single “When I Grow Up” for the first time in Asia at the Awards.

Faizal Tahir was always a hot favorite while contesting in One In A Million, Malaysia’s first ever reality singing competition. Though he did not win the finals, his fan base was extremely huge and they were hungry for more of his brilliant performances.
Known for his excellent showmanship on-stage, this thirty year old Kuala Lumpur native has also captured the hearts of millions with his passion for music. Not only is he a composer, producer and lyricist, he also plays the guitar, drum and bass, just to name a few.
Faizal’s debut solo pop rock album 'Aku.Muzik.Kamu' has earned him many awards in the various prestigious award ceremonies including Anugerah ERA, Anugerah Planet Muzik, Anugerah Industri Muzik, and many more.

Nicholas Teo shot to fame when he was crowned the winner of Astro Talent Quest, Malaysia in 2002. He stands at 176cm, with boyish good looks and a charming smile, Nicholas has won the hearts of teen girls all over Asia.
His debut self-entitled EP which was released in 2003 has been topping the sales charts in Malaysia. In September 2004, thanks to his young, optimistic and healthy image, Nicholas was appointed by Young Malaysian Movement (YMM) as the Youth Ambassador from 2004-2007.
Setting new highs, Nicholas was the first local Malaysian artist who held a solo concert at Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands that successfully attracted more than 10, 000 fans. His idols are Faye Wong and Eason Chan.

Pop Shuvit began making waves in the local music scene in late 2001. Comprising of Moots (vocals), JD (guitars), AJ (bass), Rudy (drums) and UNO(turntables), the band has had four successful releases under their belt and rocked fans throughout Asia.
Known for their adrenaline packed live shows and eclectic blend of hip hop and rock, Pop Shuvit is one of Asia’s leading Hip Hop Rock Band. In 2003, the band released their debut album Take It & Shuvit which broke new ground when their ‘Skater’s Anthem’ was made exclusively available on the internet and become one of the most downloadable songs in Malaysian music history.
