Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai will head the jury at the the 11th Shanghai International Film Festival 2008 has already started from June 14 to 22 in Shanghai, China 第十一届上海国际电影节将于六十四日至六月二十四日在中国上海举行。He replaces filmmaker Anthony Minghella, who passed away recently in March 2008.
During this nine-day event, around 300 movies will be screened at various cinema complexes, including Ashes of Time Redux, Wong Kar-wai’s latest work. Other than that, the competition lineup includes movies from China, Europe, Japan, Argentina, South Korea, Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic and New Zealand. During the festival, cinemas will screen 270 films till June 22, 2008.
