List of the official list of the 2009 Grammy Award nominees: And the winners goes to: Award winners are HIGHLIGHTED.

Coldplay won three awards for their album Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends, as did Alison Krauss and Robert Plant for their collaboration on the album Raising Sand, who snagged the prize for album of the year. It was Coldplay who took the award for best rock album and song of the year.

Lil Wayne took home the prize for Rap Album of the Year for Tha Carter III and best rap solo performance for "A Milli." He also won best rap song for "Lollipop" and clearly had a good night.

And it was John Mayer who snagged best male pop vocal performance for "Say" as well as solo rock vocal performance for "Gravity." Great, like that one needs more encouragement.

Best new artist went to British singer Adele, who also won for best female pop vocal performance for her sing "Chasing Pavements." Yay! Here's to pop stars who can actually sing.
