"I actually walked into this with no expectations, and I'm walking out of it with no expectations," Cook said to the reporters at the backstage of Nokia Theatre after his win.

David Roland Cook, born in December 20, 1982 an American Rock singer was declared the seventh American Idol recently on May 21, 2008 during "The Season Finale" of American Idol Season 7. His single, "The Time of My Life" is already on sale iTunes.

A little information about David Cook before he was chosen as one of the finalists for the seventh season of American Idol:

David Cook auditioned for American Idol Season 7 in Omaha, Nebraska, singing a song by Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer." At first he did not have any plans at all to try out for the reality sisnging competition show. However he came to the auditions just to support his younger brother Andrew Cook who failed to make it through so after the Judges, Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell said "YES" and he made it through he thought and decided to try out himself in Hollywood.

From then after he was chosen as one of the finalists in American Idol for this season, he has never been in the bootom three until he was crowned as the winner and he is the seventh American Idol since May 21, 2008.

In less than 24 hours after David Cook's success and victory, he had the top 4 selling songs on iTunes, with his debut single "The Time of My Life" at #1. His other songs are of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For", "The World I Know", and "Dream Big". Dream Big is a nice song and I am waiting for the debut of his first album.
