It will be the first time in history that one person will represent all the participating countries. A creative team made up of Russia’s best make-up artists, image-makers and hairstylists have created 42 looks for the Siberian beauty queen.
By tradition, the country which hosts the Eurovision has to represent all the participants of the annual contest taking part in it. As a result, Matryoshka dolls usually stand for Russia, while the baguette is often used as the symbol of France.
The Russian organizers of the Eurovision Song Contest decided to put an end to clichés this year and asked the world’s most beautiful woman, 21-year-old Sukhinova, to become the face of the popular music contest.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2009 will be the 54th Eurovision Song Contest, scheduled to take place between 12 and 16 May 2009 at the Olympic Indoor Arena in Moscow, Russia. Changes in the voting procedure will occur with the re-introduction of a national jury alongside televoting while the format of the semi-finals will remain the same.
