SOFIA, March 15, 2009 – 24-year old Antonia Petrova (2nd left), a student and model from Pernik, was crowned Miss Bulgaria 2009 at the beauty pageant held on March 14th at the Rainbow Plaza in Sofia. Petrova is 1.80 m tall and will represent her country at the Miss World 2009 pageant in Johannesburg next December.
The 1st runner-up, crowned Miss Bulgaria Universe, was 18-year old Elitsa Lubenova (left). The 1.70 m beauty from Dve Mogili will compete at the Miss Universe 2009 pageant in The Bahamas next August.
Other winner were Ruslana Kaneva (2nd runner-up, off to Miss Beauty of the World) and the 3rd runner-up was Polina Gergusheva (off to Miss Tourism Planet of the World).
The contest was held after a 2-year hiatus.
