Veteran Hong Kong artiste Lydia Shum
who was born in Shanghai, China
died at the age of 60 this morning
(21st July 1947 - 19th February 2008)

I have read from news that she suffered from Liver Cancer and
somewhere in October 2007,

Lydia collapsed at her home and was then rushed to the
Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hong Kong for an emergency treatment
She was later transffered to another hospital, Queen Mary Hospital

After being discharged in the same month,
she continued to receive medical treatment.
Then later on she was again admitted to the hospital.
Regardless what happened I am not sure of the whole situation.

When I saw her appearing in the Hong Kong TVB Award 2007, sitting in a wheel chair as she received her special award I was already saddened about her condition.

I was sad and surprised when I read about her death from the online news.
She passed away this morning in Queen Mary Hospital.

She was known as "hoi sam kor" (Pistachio) and "fei jie" by most of the people from all over the world. I love to watch her many entertaining shows and one of the popular ones was "fun lok kam siu"(Enjoy Yourself Tonight).
She also perform in many tv shows.
She was famous of her high-pitched voice
and the way she laughed will just make you put a big smile on your face
She has left us forever and will be dearly missed by many people.
I am waiting to watch Lydia Shum special
at 11pm tonight over Astro Wah Lai Toi
